Middle East Current Event Project

Middle East & Islam Project Schedule
Project Overview: In class we are learning about the start of Islam and the cultural impact it has had on the rest of the world. The Middle East region is currently going through many changes and you and a partner or going to learn about one country in depth. Over the next several weeks, you will learn about the country’s recent history and important current events. At the end of the project, you and your partner will combine your photos/images and create an artistic interpretation of the country.

Part I- Country Profile- Using the BBC website, complete the country profile

Part II- Current Events- Twice a week you are responsible for finding an interesting article regarding important events happening in your country. An event is important if it affects a lot of people or if it has effects on other countries. You may want to track a certain topic throughout the next few weeks.

Part III- Collage- You and your partner need to keep all of your photos/images throughout the process, as well as your articles and summary/reflections. Ms Abbassi will show you an example of the collage after Spring Break.
